77 countries — most of Europe, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, much of Southeast Asia and Latin America — enter visa-free for 30 days. Nationals of 55 more, including the United States and Canada, can stay up to 240 hours (10 days) in transit to a third country. Everyone else applies for an L visa. Rules change often; both policies are currently published through the end of 2026.
