Wuhan University Cherry Blossoms
武大樱花 · wǔ dà yīng huā
For about two weeks each March, Cherry Blossom Avenue on the university's Luojia Hill campus becomes the most photographed street in central China.
The story
The first trees were planted in the 1930s and 40s; today over a thousand bloom against the campus's 1930s Chinese-Western buildings. Free but strictly reservation-only in blossom season.
Getting there

Local tips
- Reserve on the university's WeChat account 3 days ahead; passport works.
- Go at 7am on a weekday.
- Moshan at East Lake is the crowd-free alternative.
