China's largest urban lake, ringed by 100 km of car-free greenway. Rent a shared bike and ride Moshan's cherry blossoms, Tingtao's willows and the lotus in summer.

The story

Six times the size of West Lake in Hangzhou. Wuhan built the greenway in 2016 and it changed the city's weekends. Moshan (磨山) has a Chu culture park with a 'Chu Heaven Terrace' and hosts the spring cherry festival.

Local tips

Use a shared bike (Meituan yellow / Hello blue) through Alipay.
Start at Tingtao Scenic Area, ride to Moshan (about 12 km).
