The story
Invented in the late Qing dynasty by a street vendor who wanted something cheaper than fried dough sticks. The shape comes from the ladle. Locals dunk it into hot-dry-noodle sauce or soup.
How to eat it
Buy two, eat one plain and dunk the other into your noodles or 糊汤粉 soup.
